In Memory of Donna

Today my sister-in-law died.

Donna McGill Hill is survived by her son Jimmy Hill, mother Mae McGill, brother Archie McGill, brother Paul McGill and sister Carol McGill.

A lovely woman. Her life was too short. She will be missed and remembered.

Here are the lyrics to this beautiful music:

When the dark wood fell before me
And all the paths were overgrown
When the priests of pride say there is no other way
I tilled the sorrows of stone

I did not believe because I could not see
Though you came to me in the night
When the dawn seemed forever lost
You showed me your love in the light of the stars

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me

Then the mountain rose before me
By the deep well of desire
From the fountain of forgiveness
Beyond the ice and fire

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me

Though we share this humble path, alone
How fragile is the heart
Oh give these clay feet wings to fly
To touch the face of the stars

Breathe life into this feeble heart
Lift this mortal veil of fear
Take these crumbled hopes, etched with tears
We’ll rise above these earthly cares

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me
Please remember me

    Angela,
Thank you for reminding me of that beautiful song, I listened to it over and over when Dak passed. Now Dak and Grandpa Archie and Donna are together in peace. Listening to that song again allowed me to cry which I had not been able to do for our loss of Donna from our lives. She will be missed and remembered as being so young. Dying at 55 and her Dad died at 56 what a sad legacy cancer has left as it has moved through the McGill family. Both grandparents, father, daughter have all been stricken and Uncle Clarence.

Donna was a good friend and sister-in-law and she deserved much more than this life gave her. I pray she will now find peace and healing in spirit. May the blessings and comfort from our loving creator and life giver sooth our loss.

To my dear Sister-in-Law Donna, I loved you and I’ll continue to be there for Jimmy as best as I can. I know you will too Angela.

    Warm Hugs Sis,

    Ruth

You’re welcome, Ruth. Paul and Carol approved as well. They thought Donna would be pleased.

    Thanks, Tracey.
